UConn ECE Credit Registration Deadline is 9/30 (Seniors): See Mrs. Lorenzo for more information. Natural Resource Conservation Fair: The Southwest Conservation District will be hosting (what appears to be) a career fair for natural resources and 10/4 is specifically for high school students. Students interested in pursuing a career in Natural Resources are strongly encouraged to attend. There is a 16 person limit. Submit the permission slip ASAP. We will leave LH at 11am (eat first lunch) and return at 2:00 pm. You will not miss the assembly during periods 1 and 2. WB Animal Care Committee: Our next meeting will be on Friday September 30th after school (ag 103 from 2:00-3:00 PM). We will be electing a committee chair and creating our plan for the year. Check out what we've been up to! FFA Bulb Sale Fundraiser & FFA Dues: FFA dues are $20 (this year) and are due to Mrs. Rose by 9/30. If you sell $40 worth of bulbs you can cover your FFA dues for one year. You can sell more to cover additional years too! Next year, FFA dues will be increasing to $25 so get the discounted rate while you can! FFA dues make you eligible for FFA funded activities, free admission to Lyman Hall sponsored CT Safe Boating Classes, scholarships, Career Development Events, award programs and so much more. The following students need to either pay their dues, sell bulbs or come up with a plan to work off their dues: Kyle, Jenn, Marina, Courtney R. , Evelyn, Alyssa, Carter, Ethan, Elly, Hayley, Cathryn, Nick Moran, Nick Motmans, Ian, Steve, Matteo, Fox. Forestry CDE: Our next practice will be on Tuesday 9/27 from 2:00-3:30 in Ag 103. Environmental/Natural Resources CDE: Our next practice will be on Tuesday 9/27 2:00-3:30 in Ag 103. This has already been paid for! #FFAmemberBenefits #payyourdues SAE Kestrel Nesting Box Kiosk: A recent graduate is looking for help putting the finishing touches on a project he completed for his Eagle Scout project. He is looking for someone to create a poster to be put up on the kiosk at a kestrel nesting box site, Farnum Field in Wallingford. "What I would want on it is some basic information about the field, who runs it (the town of Wallingford and the Wallingford Land Trust), some information about the bird, and basic stuff like diet, range, and physical description. If anyone is interested and if you think this could be a good SAE project for someone they or you can email me let me know." For more information please contact Mark Bernick (2016). CT DEEP Boating Ambassador: The boating director from the CT DEEP is looking for one student to represent Lyman Hall as a Boating Ambassador. Essentially your job is to educate the public about boating safety. At the end of the year you will be recognized for your contributions at the state capitol. Let me know if you are interested. SAE Pictures WANTED: As part of her SAE, Ally (Class of 2016), is collecting photos of people's SAE in order to create a video. Please email Ally ([email protected]) photos of your SAE!
